Blythe is an eastern Riverside County city in the Palo Verde Valley, right along the Colorado River near the Arizona line. It sits in the Colorado Desert and is deeply tied to water, agriculture, and Interstate 10 travel. The city is named for Thomas Henry Blythe, who established early Colorado River water rights in the area in 1877.
