About Boaz

Boaz is a Sand Mountain city that spans Marshall and Etowah counties in northeast Alabama. First settled in the 1850s and formally founded by the Sparks family in 1878, it grew into a small regional shopping and school town. Boaz was long known for outlet shops, and it is also home to Snead State Community College and the Snead Junior College Historic District. Its identity is practical and local: schools, shopping, Sand Mountain, and north Alabama small-city life.
