About Booneville

Booneville is a historic city and the southern seat of government for Logan County, Arkansas. Founded in 1828 when explorer Walter Cauthron built a log cabin along the Petit Jean River, it is one of the oldest cities in western Arkansas. The town is situated in the Arkansas River Valley between the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains, near the popular recreational waters of Blue Mountain Lake. Historically home to the Arkansas State Tuberculosis Sanatorium, the community now supports a diverse economy of light industries.
