About Brainerd

Brainerd is a city and the county seat of Crow Wing County, Minnesota, situated along the Mississippi River. Established in 1870 at a major railroad crossing upstream from the Crow Wing River confluence, the community of approximately 14,500 is historically famous as the site visited by explorer Zebulon Pike in 1805. The city hosts Central Lakes College and is served by the Brainerd Public Schools district.
