About Braman
Braman is a town in Kay County, Oklahoma, United States. The 2020 census counted 160 residents. Braman was named for railroad developer Dwight Braman, when its post office was first established on April 22, 1898. In that year, the Kansas and Southeastern Railroad —which was bought by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad in 1899—built a track from Hunnewell, Kansas to Braman. Taken together, these details give a newcomer a usable picture of Braman, where its history, geography, and current gathering places meet. For Braman, the memorable detail is the way older history and current gathering places share one local map.
