Brandon, MS

Brandon is the county seat of Rankin County, just east of Jackson. Named for early Mississippi governor Gerard Brandon, the city has an older courthouse-town identity that still shows in the Downtown Brandon Historic District. At the same time, it functions as a growing suburb of the Jackson metro, with schools, neighborhoods, and commuter routes shaping everyday life. Brandon feels more established than a purely new suburb, with a civic center and a steady regional role.
