Broadwell, IL

Broadwell is a village in Logan County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census counted 136 residents. The former northbound lane of U.S. Route 66 remains intact, and it still serves the village as a major local road and tourist magnet. Until recently, the Pig Hip building was still open as a museum of Route 66 memorabilia, with Ernie Edwards as the host. Broadwell makes sense once you see how its past, landscape, and current gathering spots overlap. The useful thing to know about Broadwell is that its older landmarks and current settings belong to one connected place. Broadwell is located in southwestern Logan County. Interstate 55 passes through the western side of the village, with access from Exit 119.
