Brooklyn Heights, OH

Brooklyn Heights is a Cuyahoga County village on Cleveland's inner suburban edge, with a wooded valley and creek running through its southern end. Most of the rest of the village is developed residential land, including older houses and newer homes. The 2020 Census counted 1,519 residents. Interstates 77, 480, and 90 and State Route 176 put the village directly into the Cleveland road network. The low valley and highway access tie it to Cleveland while leaving the village with its own municipal outline.

Brooklyn Heights has an unusually specific civic history: the village calls itself the site of the first commercial greenhouse and remembers the period when it was known as the Greenhouse Capital of America. More than 200 businesses operate in the village today, and the Cuyahoga Heights School District serves local students. The Cleveland office of the National Weather Service moved to Brooklyn Heights in 2020, adding a federal weather center to the village's mix of homes, commerce, and wooded ravines.
