About Buhler
Buhler is a Reno County city whose early story runs through Russian Mennonite settlement and wheat farming. The first post office opened in 1888, after Mennonite families who had emigrated from Russia began shaping the surrounding prairie with their farms and religious traditions. Buhler USD 313 still keeps education at the center of the town's civic map, with its administrative office and Buhler High School here and other campuses serving the wider district. The people who settled Buhler carried language, faith, and agricultural knowledge from the Molotschna Colony in South Russia into Kansas. Buhler's present-day identity is tied to the same combination of prairie work and community institutions that marked its beginning.
