Bunn, NC

Bunn is a rural Franklin County town in southeastern North Carolina, named for Green Walker Bunn, who settled southeast of the present town. Montgomery Lumber Company brought railway service around 1909, bought land near the line, and helped establish the town; Bunn received its charter in 1913. NC 39 and NC 98 cross in the center, connecting Bunn with Louisburg, Wake Forest, Raleigh, and Rocky Mount. The surrounding farm country once leaned heavily on tobacco and still includes working fields, small businesses, and newer homes among older houses.

Bunn's school and town calendar keep the place local. Bunn Elementary and Bunn Middle sit near town, and Bunn High gives the community a nearby school path through grade 12. The town maintains water service, council meetings, ordinances, and a yearly Bunn Fun Day with vendors and local groups. Main Street is still the orientation point: a small crossroads town where lumber-era rail history, farm roads, older houses, and a practical civic calendar fit together.
