About Butler
Butler sits along the Clear Fork of the Mohican River in southern Richland County, a village in the Mansfield metro with a park-and-trail network on its doorstep. The area was settled by 1818, when Joseph Craig became one of its first white settlers. Today, Hitchman Park is the local trailhead for the Richland B&O Trail, while nearby Hemlock Falls drops through sandstone country along the Clear Fork Valley Scenic Trail. Butler Elementary serves the Clear Fork Valley schools, and the village's Main Street remains the practical center. It is a small Ohio place where the river, the bike trail, and the school district do most of the orientation.
