About Byron

Byron is a census-designated place in Contra Costa County, California, situated about five miles southeast of Brentwood. The community's location dates back to an 1835 Spanish land grant awarded to Jose Noriega. Byron is home to the historic, now-abandoned Byron Hot Springs resort, which was a famous retreat for Hollywood celebrities and athletes in the early twentieth century. Today the residential residential community is served by the Byron Union School District.
