Calhoun, TN

Calhoun is a quiet community of around 500 people nestled along the north bank of the Hiwassee River in East Tennessee. The river gives the area a relaxed feel and great access to fishing and boating, while the location keeps daily travel simple. Major routes like US 11 and Highway 163 run straight through town, making it an easy drive north to Athens, south across the water into Cleveland, or west to Interstate 75.

The town dates back to an 1800s river ferry landing, and that close-knit character remains today. In the center of town, a single municipal building conveniently houses the local library, town hall, and emergency services, with a community ball field right across the street. Younger students attend Calhoun Elementary right in town before moving on through the McMinn County school system.
