About Camillus
Camillus is an Onondaga County village west of Syracuse, set inside the larger Town of Camillus. The village grew from early settlement around 1790 and later became a transportation and manufacturing place: Camillus Cutlery began in 1876, and electric trolley service reached the local area in 1909. A former New York Central station at Martisco and the old cutlery works mark those layers. Camillus is a New York village with a Roman name and a practical railroad-and-factory past.
