About Campbellsport
Campbellsport is a Fond du Lac County village in the rolling hills of the Northern Kettle Moraine. The 2020 census counted 1,907 residents. State Highway 67 runs through town between US 41 and US 45, while the Milwaukee River follows the east side and the Eisenbahn State Trail uses an abandoned railroad right-of-way along the west. That gives the village an unusual three-part orientation: highway through the center, river on one side, and a recreation corridor on the other. Campbellsport serves a wider area than its population suggests.
The middle and high schools are in the village, the Campbellsport School District draws students from surrounding townships, and the library and volunteer fire and ambulance department serve beyond the village line. Fireman's Park and Columbus Parc handle team sports and neighborhood recreation, with the trail adding a longer route out of town. Campbellsport is a small school-and-service village where the road, river, and old rail line each still have a job.
