Campo is a census-designated place and unincorporated community in the Mountain Empire area of southeastern San Diego County, California. Located on the Mexican border, the community serves as the southern trailhead for the scenic Pacific Crest Trail. Campo is home to three local museums, including the Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, which features historic train rides, and the Motor Transport Museum. The historic 1868 Gaskill Brothers' Stone Store remains a prominent landmark in the area.
