About Canada Creek Ranch
Canada Creek Ranch is an unincorporated CDP in northern Montmorency County, though the name covers far more land than the census label suggests. The 2020 census counted 258 residents, while the private ranch covers about 13,500 acres and includes roughly 17 miles of private gravel roads. Established in 1934, it was platted into 3,001 lots around shared facilities and seasonal, part-time, and full-time homes. Canada Creek runs through the property toward the Black River, and Mackinaw State Forest borders it to the east. The result is a place with a small year-round census count and a large club-managed landscape.
At the center is the Ranch House, with overnight rooms, dining, meeting space, and administrative offices. The ranch also maintains a campground, cabins, lakes, a beach area, courts, and shooting ranges, while the larger hunting property carries trails for hiking, fishing, trail riding, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The club states that its common amenities are not open to the general public, so this is a private recreation community with its own roads, facilities, and governance. Water, timber, and outdoor use are part of the daily setting, from Canada Creek’s trout water to the managed northern forest.
