About Cape Royale
Cape Royale is a San Jacinto County CDP on Lake Livingston, one of those places whose boundaries make more sense from the water than from a town square. Before the 2010 census, Cape Royale and Oakhurst were part of Oakhurst city; after that city was disincorporated, Cape Royale was counted separately. The community is tied to Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated Independent School District and to the Cape Royale Property Owners Association, which handles the residential side of this unincorporated place.
Most local roads point toward the lake. Cape Royale Marina provides boat slips, storage, fuel, and boating supplies, while the Cape Royale Boating Association runs sailing series, water-ski and wakeboard outings, a Fourth of July boat parade, cleanups, and marina gatherings. That gives the community a clear rhythm without pretending it has a conventional downtown. The local read is lake homes, a marina, and a school district in Coldspring; Cape Royale is a place built around access to Lake Livingston and the neighbors who use it.
