Capitol Heights, MD

Capitol Heights is a small, quiet community in Prince George's County, sitting right along the eastern border of Washington, D.C. Home to around 4,000 residents, the town got its start in the early 1900s as a convenient suburb for people working in the capital. Today, it remains an easy home base for commuters. East Capitol Street runs straight through town into the heart of the District, and having its own Metro station makes hopping on the Blue or Silver Line simple without needing to drive.

The neighborhood is largely residential, filled with established streets of classic bungalows, cottages, and single-family homes. Families are served by Prince George's County Public Schools, with several elementary, middle, and high schools located in and around the area. The town manages its own municipal services and local police department, while residents look to the surrounding county and corridors along Southern Avenue and Marlboro Pike for everyday shopping, dining, and parks. It offers a grounded, close-knit setting right on the doorstep of the city.
