Caryville is a quiet, rural town set along the banks of the Choctawhatchee River in the Florida Panhandle. Home to around 300 residents in Washington County, it started as an 1880s railroad stop called Half Moon Bluff before booming into a bustling timber center where sawmills floated lumber down the river.
