Caseville, MI

Caseville is an independent city in Huron County, Michigan, at the mouth of the Pigeon River where it opens into Saginaw Bay. The 2020 census counted 652 residents. The city grew from a nineteenth-century village and was incorporated in 1898; today it sits inside the larger Caseville Township but has its own city hall, police, fire, water, and downtown. M-25 follows the shore and ties Caseville to the Thumb’s cottage, fishing, and boating country.

August belongs to the Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival, a weeklong celebration that turns the waterfront town into a summer gathering with music, food, parades, and a Jimmy Buffett-inspired beach-town mood. Outside the festival, Pigeon River, Lake Huron, the city beach, local shops, and the Caseville Public Schools district keep the map grounded in year-round life. Caseville is a small Michigan city where a river mouth, a lake shore, a surrounding township, and one very famous summer festival meet. The result is a place with a compact year-round core and a much bigger seasonal footprint.
