Cash, AR

Cash is a quiet, small town in Craighead County, situated at the crossroads of Highways 18 and 226 just west of Jonesboro. The community got its start in the late 1800s alongside the railroad and timber rush near the Cache River. Early settlers actually called the settlement "Soonover," joking that it would be over before it began, but it eventually took the name Cash from the nearby river and proved to have plenty of staying power.

Today, Cash is rooted in agriculture, surrounded by open skies, crop fields, and local fish farms. Families here are served by the Westside Consolidated School District, which Cash shares with neighboring Bono and Egypt. It is a slow-paced, peaceful spot that gives residents plenty of country elbow room while keeping the jobs, shops, and conveniences of Jonesboro just a short drive down the road.
