About Caspar
Caspar is a Mendocino County coastal village with Caspar Headlands State Beach along its western edge. The headlands were part of the Caspar Lumber Company’s logging landscape until the mid-1950s; when the village’s larger landholdings went up for sale in the late 1990s, residents and land trusts worked to protect the headlands and beach. California State Parks acquired the headlands in 2002, and the California Coastal Trail now connects the beach toward Point Cabrillo Light Station. Caspar is a Northern California village where mill history, coast, and community land preservation meet.
