Cassville, WI

Tucked between towering wooded bluffs and the Mississippi River, Cassville is a quiet southwestern Wisconsin village of around 800 people. It has the grounded feel of a traditional river community where neighbors wave from front porches and daily life moves at an easy pace. Back in the 1830s, early boosters actually campaigned to make Cassville the state capital. Madison won that title, but Cassville settled comfortably into its role as a scenic waterfront haven built around boating, fishing, and river trade.
