About Castle Point
Castle Point is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in north St. Louis County, in the old St. Ferdinand Township area. The 2020 census counted 2,815 residents. County planning materials place most of the CDP in the Riverview Gardens School District, with a smaller portion in Hazelwood, and describe the community as being served by Metro North fire protection, Black Jack fire protection in part of the area, and the county’s First Precinct. That mix of districts is part of the daily geography.
Castle Point County Park gives residents a nearby green space within the suburban north-county grid. Riverview Gardens High School is the district’s comprehensive high school, and county roads connect the neighborhood to nearby Black Jack, Ferguson, and the wider St. Louis metro. The place is mostly residential, but its civic map is layered: county government, school boundaries, fire districts, police service, and park administration all meet around the same set of streets. The park’s playgrounds, basketball courts, picnic areas, and trails make that green space useful after school and on weekends.
