Center, NE

With fewer than a hundred residents, Center is one of Nebraska's smallest county seats. The tiny Knox County village was founded at the turn of the twentieth century specifically to settle a dispute over where county business should be based, earning its name from its location right in the middle of the county. Today, daily life still revolves around the brick courthouse on the square, offering a quiet, rural atmosphere surrounded by open farmland.
