Center Point, LA

Center Point is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Avoyelles Parish, set along Louisiana Highway 107 about 13 miles northwest of Marksville and 16 miles east of Alexandria. The 2020 census counted 520 residents. LA 107 gives the community its regional orientation: it connects Center Point with Marksville and continues west across the parish line toward Rapides Parish and the Alexandria area. The highway is the main line through a place whose boundaries are rural and spread along the road.

Center Point is part of the Avoyelles Parish School District, headquartered in Marksville, and the parish seat also holds the wider government network. Avoyelles is known for French-Creole and Native American cultural traditions, agricultural land, waterways, and a claim to Louisiana's geographic center. Center Point sits inside that larger central-Louisiana landscape, with Marksville supplying parish government and LA 107 carrying school and civic trips beyond the community. Its place on the highway is the useful key: this small settlement opens in both directions to regional centers and the parish's rural cultural corridor.
