About Ceresco
Ceresco is a Saunders County farming village near U.S. 77, just south of Wahoo. Its first settlement began on July 4, 1868, when brothers Asahel and Horace Andrus moved into Richland Precinct; the name Ceresco became official the next year. The town later made an unusual choice when the railroad missed the original site: in 1886, residents moved the village toward the tracks. That decision still tells you why the town sits where it does. The local shorthand is Richland Precinct, railroad move, U.S. 77, and a village that changed its location to meet the line.
