Chalkyitsik, AK

Chalkyitsik is a remote census-designated place on the left bank of the Black River in the Yukon-Koyukuk Census Area of Alaska. Located about 45 miles northeast of Fort Yukon, local education is administered by the Yukon Flats School District at the Tsuk Taih School. The community experiences a bitter subarctic climate and relies on a traditional subsistence economy.
