Chapmanville, WV

Chapmanville is a Logan County town in the Guyandotte River valley, where tributary hollows and the old river corridor bring the surrounding coalfield into one small center. Early movement followed the water: logs and farm goods traveled downstream, and the town's name comes from Ned Chapman, an early settler who ran a store and post office.
