Chena Ridge, AK

Chena Ridge is a western Fairbanks-area census-designated place between the George Parks Highway and the Tanana River. It includes the site of old Chena, a ghost town that once rivaled Fairbanks before fading from importance. That gives the community a little historical depth beneath its current suburban role. Today Chena Ridge is best understood as a residential edge of Fairbanks, with road access, river-country geography, and Interior Alaska weather shaping daily life.
