Cherry Creek in Arapahoe County is a compact, unincorporated Census area rather than Denver's namesake shopping district. Its 1.67 square miles held 11,488 residents in 2020. Estimates for 2020 through 2024 put owner occupancy at 80 percent, the median owner-occupied value at $888,900, monthly owner costs with a mortgage at $3,010, and median gross rent at $2,093. During that same period, median household income was $153,776, workers averaged about 23 minutes of travel to work, 16 percent of residents were foreign-born, and 22 percent of people age five or older spoke a language other than English at home. Much of the useful public space lies just beyond the statistical boundary. Cherry Creek State Park provides the largest nearby recreation complex: an 850-surface-acre reservoir, 35 miles of multiuse trails including 15 paved miles, 135 modern campsites, boat ramps, fishing, paddling, a marina, picnic sites, and a swim beach open from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Drivers pay a daily park entry fee, while walkers and cyclists can use paved links in the regional trail network. West of the CDP, Koelbel Library's 2026 calendar included age-specific storytimes, memory cafés, career sessions, documentary discussions, teen art, and rotating gallery exhibitions. Village Greens Park North adds a 1.2-mile loop, an 18-hole disc-golf course, and a mountain-bike skills course. Its path connects with the regional Cherry Creek Trail and continues toward RTD's Dayton Station, which has bicycle parking, a 250-space park-and-ride, and service on the R light-rail line.
