Cherry Grove, OR

Tucked into the foothills of the Coast Range south of Forest Grove, Cherry Grove is a quiet, out-of-the-way community along the upper Tualatin River. It started out in the early 1910s as an ambitious logging town founded by lumberman August Lovegren, complete with its own sawmill and rail line. A massive winter flood in 1914 washed out the mill dam, ending the boom years early and leaving behind the peaceful, wooded hideaway you see today.

Today, Cherry Grove offers rural living surrounded by thick forest, open pastures, and quiet river bends. Locals enjoy a relaxed pace and plenty of privacy, with scenic spots like Cherry Grove Falls just up the road for weekend hikes. Most everyday shopping and services are a short drive away in Gaston or Forest Grove, making it a great fit for people who want country space without being completely cut off from town.
