Chevy Chase Village is a tiny, affluent town in Montgomery County, just outside Washington, D.C. It grew from late-19th-century streetcar-suburb development led by a real estate syndicate associated with Francis G. Newlands, and it still feels carefully managed and residential. The town is also locally known for strict speed limit enforcement, a very specific bit of suburban Maryland lore. Chevy Chase Village feels leafy, residential, and expensive, with large homes, old trees, and immediate access to D.C. and Bethesda.
