Cheyenne Wells, CO

Cheyenne Wells is the statutory town and county seat of Cheyenne County, set on the eastern Colorado plains near the Kansas line. The name comes from water wells associated with the Cheyenne people who lived in the area and maintained them, and the local post office opened in 1876. County government gives the town its civic weight: courthouse work, public offices, schools, and the road network serving ranch and farm country all meet here. The 2020 census counted 758 residents.
