Chickasaw, AL

Located just five miles north of downtown Mobile, Chickasaw is a small, close-knit community situated right where Chickasaw Creek connects to the Mobile River. Home to around 6,500 residents, the town grew out of its early shipbuilding days into a quiet residential area. Neighborhoods like the Shipyard Village Historic District feature well-kept historic cottages and tree-lined streets, offering affordable homes with lots of character and easy access to the water.

For everyday living, Chickasaw provides the convenience of its own independent school district alongside an easy commute across the Mobile metro area. Highway 43 runs directly through town, connecting residents to downtown Mobile's major employers and medical centers in minutes, as well as the shopping hubs in neighboring Saraland. Between local parks, civic recreation, and a relaxed pace, Chickasaw gives newcomers an approachable small-town atmosphere right on the edge of the city.
