About Chickasaw

Chickasaw is a city in eastern Mobile County, Alabama, situated along the Mobile River within the Mobile metropolitan area. In the early twentieth century, the community was established as a company town wholly owned by the Chickasaw Shipyard for its workers. Today this historic heritage is preserved in the Shipyard Village Historic District, which is listed on the National Register. Local public education is provided by the Chickasaw City Schools district.
