About Chino Valley

Chino Valley is a north-central Arizona town in Yavapai County, about 15 miles north of Prescott along State Route 89. At roughly 4,750 feet, it has a cooler, drier high-desert feel than many people expect from Arizona. The town has a surprisingly important origin story: Arizona's first territorial government operated at nearby Del Rio Springs before moving to Prescott in 1864. Today Chino Valley is small but spread out, with local schools and a Yavapai College presence.
