About Chisago City

Chisago City is a city in Chisago County, Minnesota, situated approximately thirty-five miles northeast of Minneapolis-Saint Paul between the twin lakes of Chisago Lake and Green Lake. Founded in May 1857 by Anders Swenson, a Swedish immigrant from Småland, the city of approximately 5,900 takes its name from Chisago Lake. Public education is administered by the Chisago Lakes School District.
