Church Hill, PA

Church Hill is an unincorporated Mifflin County community spread across Armagh and Brown townships, just north of Burnham. The 2010 census counted 1,627 residents. There is no separate borough government at the center, so the local map is made from township roads, homes, farms, churches, and the nearby communities that handle shopping, schools, and civic business. Route names such as Church Hill Road show how the place works on the ground: a named community laid across a larger rural road network with no single downtown block.

The backdrop is the Kishacoquillas Valley and the older township history around it. Brown Township was formed from Armagh in 1837, and East Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church dates to 1777, giving the area a long religious and farm-settlement memory.
