Circleville, UT

Circleville is a Piute County town in a mountain valley where the Sevier River passes through a landscape ringed by higher country. Mormon colonists from Ephraim and Sanpete County settled the town in March 1864, placing it within the early settlement story of south-central Utah. The town's scale remains small, but its geography is expansive: mountains close the valley on most sides, while U.S. 89 and the river connect Circleville with Marysvale, Junction, and the rest of Piute County.

Outdoor travel is part of the local economy and the town's present identity. The Paiute ATV Trail system links Circleville to a long network across forests, canyons, and mountain ranges, with designated streets leading riders toward food, fuel, lodging, and repairs. Birch Creek Campground sits directly on the trail beside a wooded creek setting. Circleville is also associated with the youth of outlaw Robert Leroy Parker, better known as Butch Cassidy. The result is a Utah town where settlement history, river valley scenery, trail travel, and western folklore share the same map.
