Clarita, OK

Clarita started out in the early 1900s under the name Kittie, just before the railroad arrived and laid out a new townsite. Renamed after a railroad official's wife, the town quickly grew into a busy trading spot where western Coal County farmers brought their crops and livestock to ship along the tracks. The trains no longer run through, but Clarita keeps the relaxed, small-town atmosphere and open country setting that make it a peaceful place to settle down.
