Clarksburg, TN

Clarksburg is a Carroll County town along Tennessee State Route 22, about nine miles south of Huntingdon and six miles north of Interstate 40 at Parkers Crossroads. The town sits in the southern part of the county, where farm roads, wooded stretches, and the highway come together. Its location makes Clarksburg a small crossroads for people moving between Huntingdon, West Tennessee towns, and the recreation country around Natchez Trace State Park and Carroll County Thousand Acre Lake.

The town's clearest civic institution is Clarksburg School, a Pre K-12 campus that operates through the South Carroll Special School District. The district was formed in 1954 after the earlier county school building was condemned, and Clarksburg's first high school class had graduated in 1920. School events still give the town a shared calendar and a reason for nearby communities to gather.
