Clay, KY

Clay is a quiet, close-knit town in western Kentucky's Webster County, situated around the junction of Routes 109 and 132. Named in honor of statesman Henry Clay back in the nineteenth century, the community has spent generations serving as a steady crossroads for the surrounding countryside. Today, it offers a peaceful, small-town setting where neighbors know each other and life moves at a comfortable, unhurried pace.

Day-to-day life here is simple and community-focused, centered around Clay Elementary School, local churches, and a handful of hometown businesses along Main Street. You can learn about the area's farming and coal mining roots at the Parker-Warner Historic Museum, while nearby highways make it easy to commute to Providence, Dixon, or Madisonville for bigger shopping trips and healthcare. It is an easygoing place that even caught the ear of country music fans when the Statler Brothers sang about it in their 1980 tune "How Are Things in Clay, Kentucky?"
