Clermont, GA

Clermont is a Hall County town north of Gainesville, with 1,021 residents in the 2020 census and a place in the Gainesville metropolitan area. U.S. 129 runs through town toward Cleveland and Gainesville, while Georgia 283 and Georgia 284 meet there. The name has a small local twist: the post office opened as Dip in 1892 and took the Clermont name in 1905. That old name still appears at the Clermont-Dip Library, one of the town's everyday civic stops. Most local gathering happens around a compact set of civic venues.

Town Hall is on Main Street, with the Clermont Chattahoochee Center nearby; the Market Street, Clay E. Gailey, and Chattahoochee pavilions handle meetings and events, while the Grover and Lucille Hood Community Center is on Hulsey Road. Clermont's annual festival adds a parade, 5K and 1K races, music, craft vendors, demonstrations, a car show, and fireworks. The roads point toward Gainesville and Cleveland, while the library, meeting spaces, and recurring events keep the town's routines rooted in Clermont.
