About Clinton
Clinton is a Jackson-area city in central Mississippi, founded in 1823 as Mount Salus. Mississippi College is the defining institution, giving the city a strong college-town thread and a long educational history. Clinton is also known for local school pride, including the Clinton Arrows, and for its role during World War II, when German prisoners helped build a scale model of the Mississippi River for federal engineering work. Today Clinton feels residential, academic, and closely tied to the larger Jackson metro.
