Clinton is a city and the county seat of Anderson County, Tennessee, situated along the Clinch River as part of the Knoxville metropolitan area. The town gained national prominence in 1956 during the desegregation of Clinton High School following the Brown v. Board of Education decision, an event commemorated today at the Green McAdoo Cultural Center. Public education is administered by Clinton City Schools and Anderson County Schools.
