Coal Valley offers a quiet, welcoming atmosphere just south of Moline in the Illinois Quad Cities. Home to around 4,000 residents, the village has transitioned from its 19th-century coal mining roots into a relaxed residential retreat surrounded by rolling hills and green spaces. Depending on whether you settle on the Rock Island County or Henry County side of town, students attend either Moline-Coal Valley or Orion public schools.
