Cobb, CA

Cobb sits high in Lake County on Cobb Mountain, around 2,600 feet above sea level along State Highway 175. The 2020 census counted 1,295 residents. John Cobb settled in Cobb Valley in 1853, and the first post office opened in 1911, giving the scattered mountain community a name and a mailing point. The surrounding ridges divide the Putah and Kelsey Creek watersheds, so roads, springs, and forest slopes shape the place as much as the small settlement itself.
