About Cody
Cody is a northwest Wyoming city founded with the myth and machinery of the American West close at hand. Shoshone and Crow people lived in the region long before Euro-American settlement, and the Crow Reservation was later placed to the north by treaty. Modern Cody is strongly tied to Buffalo Bill Cody, Yellowstone tourism, rodeo, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, which includes major museums on natural history, Plains Indian cultures, firearms, and western art. Cody feels theatrical, historic, and genuinely rugged at once.
