Coesse, IN

Coesse is a quiet rural community in Whitley County's Union Township, located just southeast of Columbia City. Named after Miami Chief Coesse in the mid-19th century, the settlement originally grew up along the railroad as a small farming and postal stop. Today, the area offers classic northern Indiana countryside, defined by open fields, spacious homesteads, and a relaxed pace of life.

Coesse Elementary is part of the Whitley County Consolidated Schools system and serves as a familiar anchor for local families. Most of the surrounding neighborhood consists of working farms, peaceful country lanes, and roomy properties that give residents plenty of space. For shopping, groceries, and dining, Columbia City is only a short drive down the road, while nearby Fort Wayne makes for an easy commute.
